Saturday, July 18, 2009 Part D:Human activities and their impact Many human activities can be carried out in the park. It is a large area and the lanes provided for jogging and cycling. However irresponsible park users throw their rubbish anyhow and destroy the original fauna of the park. Not only so they are also polluting the environment. Throwing plastic bags and bottles and other rubbish into the lake is harmful to the aquatic plants and animals. Fishes died because of getting trapped in the bags. I think that they should not be tolerated as the park has been built for the people and yet they are destroying it, not appreciaitng and trampling on the effort of the authorities. Aspects to take note of when having fun at the Jurong Lake park. -Cycle at the cycling lane, look where you are going. -Do not harm organisms for own leisure. -Do not pluck flowers as they are planted for the community to view. -Do not litter and destroy the natural environment's beauty.(we are responsible for the cleanliness of the park as we are the users) -Don't provoke bees or other insects lest they come after you. -Do not destroy the habitats of the organisms. -Do not throw plastic objects into the lake as it will kill the marine lives. Activities carried out in the park. Cycling
