Part E:EFFORTS OF THE AUTHORITIES

The authorities have hired cleaners to pick up rubbish from the lake to keep it clean. This way, they can not only reduce the number of dead aquatic creatures, they are also preserving the environment, prevent pollution. We should be thankful that the authorities are also helping do their part in going green.Hence we should take that as an example and all do our part in preserving the nature. However, the efforts are only limited, they cannot possibly clear every piece of rubbish thrown by the community. So, we have to be responsible for our own litter and not throw them anyhow. The authorities can pay more attention to punish litter-bugs and let them learn from their mistakes, also acting as a warning to the people. With that, the park would be clean and green.

Part D:Human activities and their impact

Many human activities can be carried out in the park. It is a large area and the lanes provided for jogging and cycling. However irresponsible park users throw their rubbish anyhow and destroy the original fauna of the park. Not only so they are also polluting the environment. Throwing plastic bags and bottles and other rubbish into the lake is harmful to the aquatic plants and animals. Fishes died because of getting trapped in the bags. I think that they should not be tolerated as the park has been built for the people and yet they are destroying it, not appreciaitng and trampling on the effort of the authorities.
Aspects to take note of when having fun at the Jurong Lake park.
-Cycle at the cycling lane, look where you are going.
-Do not harm organisms for own leisure.
-Do not pluck flowers as they are planted for the community to view.
-Do not litter and destroy the natural environment's beauty.(we are responsible for the cleanliness of the park as we are the users)
-Don't provoke bees or other insects lest they come after you.
-Do not destroy the habitats of the organisms.
-Do not throw plastic objects into the lake as it will kill the marine lives.

Part C: Our Specialize Community

Rock
Rocks can be found anywhere even a water-edge.Water snails likes to lay their eggs at the rocks near water and guard them underwater beside the rock.Big rocks are often reddish brown in colour as they are outdoors for a long period of time and they go through rains and sun, wearing off the colour.Ant colonies and fungi can be found growing on them.

Part A: Introduction of Jurong Lake Park and Reflection

JURONG LAKE PARK
Jurong lake park was built around the perimeter of the lake and work was completed in January 2006. However, the water is noted to be green in colour during dry weather and a murky brown after a downpour, the likely result of runoff from its urban catchment area.Jurong Lake Park is a park for suitable for many leisure activities. Its a big place with clear, fresh air and a strong fauna of flowers. Plenty of sports like jogging, cycling or even taiji for the elders can be conducted there. There is a 2.8 kilometre water promenade along Jurong Lake Park would allow residents to participate in watersports like kayaking, water rafting and fishing can be conducted in the lake.It is also has large range or biodiversity. Variety of organisms can be found, and lives is almost everywhere. Plants and insects has made the park their living habitat. In the midst of having fun, please do not forget to preserve the environment and protect the lives in the park as we are users of the park.
Reflection about the trip
During the trip, we took a couple of photos although we did not find a lot of organisms. Our tasked community is ROCK. Jin ting had to kick and flipped over big rocks to let us take photos but there are only ant colonies on it and we did not spot any bugs. So, we also scanned the park area other than rocks. The photos include some water snails and their pink-coloured eggs. We notice that the snails are always not far away from the rock where their eggs are laid. Hence, came to the conclusion that maybe they are looking after the eggs, making sure that they are safe before it's hatched. We also managed to capture a grasshopper. however, we failed to find any lizards or bigger mammals. The grasshopper is of the same size and colour with the grass, so we encountered difficulties when trying to capture it. Our eyes were not sharp enough hence we didnt find any other organisms. Maybe it is because of the warm weather that some of the animals belonging to the rock community cannot come out. Maybe it was because some of them are only suitable to come out when the weather is more cooling or moist. But the best part of the trip is that, we all had a lot of fun together!!
